Technical
Welcome to the technical page. If you are here then we assume you are at least just a little bit geeky. We aren't planning to use this page to teach you anything about HTML 5, etc. It's just a place where we can put up occasional notices about things you might be interested in that most users would rather ignore.
If you want to see the simple instruction pages for using the web builder then please head over to www.123faq.net
Forthcoming Changes
As you may know we offer a very generous storage allowance so you can upload sermons and other files. We are making a number of changes to our systems this year. One of the changes will mean an update to the domain used for the files. We will automatically update all the URLs in your website and in podcasts. You don't need to make any updates to your site. There will be a period of overlap when the files exist in two locations. A tiny number of our users have linked to the files directly from external websites. If you are doing this then please make sure you update those URLs when we make the switch. Contact the helpdesk for more information.
Heartbleed Bug Notice
We take security very seriously and the church123 system was totally immune to the Heartbleed bug. If you want to know more about Heartbleed please see the main site at http://heartbleed.com
Feb 2014
Complete relaunch of the church123 system: Our older clients may recall that for a decade the church123 system was best used on Internet Explorer. From February 2014 we relaunched with a brand new system. The new powerful editor works in Internet Explorer 8+ and modern versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari. You are free to use your favourite browser. Now for the techie bit. Some of your like to tinker with the source code and you still can. Simply click More next to the relevant page (under Edit Site -> Edit Pages) and then select Alternate Editor. Once the editor has loaded just click Source to get at all that glorious code.
HTML, CSS and Template Updates
If you are using one of our standard templates we can still make custom changes to it. We can update the CSS for you to change things like header graphics, styles and even some of the layout. You can get at the source code of any page to update the HTML of that page. If you want a complete custom template you can work with one of our designers or you can produce a design yourself (with standards compliant HTML5 code and CSS). Customised sites still work in the same editor and with the same great support.
